The DQ380 gearbox produced for the first time in Tianjin was specially developed for China. In combination with the third generation of the new EA888 engine, which is produced at the engine plants in Changchun and Shanghai, Volkswagen will achieve a consumption reduction of 0.5l/100 Km and therefore a CO2 reduction of 12g/km compared to the previous generation. The transmission DQ380 meets the requirements of innovative, efficient and environmentally friendly technology.
Recently, two additional types of transmissions, namely the DQ500 and the DL382 havebeen put into production. Numerous vehicles of the Volkswagen brand, Audi and Skoda in the Chinese market will be equipped with energy-efficient high-tech transmissions from Tianjin. With the new generation of transmissions, Volkswagen Automatic Transmission in Tianjin helps Volkswagen to become the most sustainable automobile manufacturer in China by the year 2018.
